Merlin/Hermes/Mercury/Thoth/Odin: Old wizard, grey blue cloak, staff with crystal......shapeshifter, appears as
a bird often. I have seen him several times in my dreams over the years. Often he is teaching me something about magic or the Universe. In some of the dreams when he appeared as a bird for example, I didn't realize it was him, until reviewing the dream later and noticeing similar details such as colors, places and feelings. This is why it is so important to keep a Dream Journal where you write down as much detail as you can remember upon waking, including feelings. Merlin/Odin is an Archetypal Divine Masculine Force........what is that exactly? Who knows? It could be my Higher Self using imagery that I will respond to, or it could be an Aspect of the Universal God Force........it could be ancestral memory, or cultural memory encoded in the DNA........ I have heard whispers in the Esoteric Community that Merlin may have been an Atlantian or Lemurian. This could actually make sense. Perhaps he traveled all around the world teaching ancient secrets and still does.....just at the dream level now. I recently came across cross cultural studies that confirm that Odin was in fact the same as Mercury/Hermes. I also had a dream in which I saw a being of black and white patterns, very Yin Yang like. I asked for it's name and what I heard was slightly unclear, so intended to see this being again in another dream and asked it to clarify the name. I heard it more clearly the second time: " Odin Edda". Those who study Norse Mythology know that their stories are written in poetry form in a book called the "Edda" and that Odin is among other things, a God of Poetry and Writing. Seeing as how this being is a Ying Yang, it also has a Feminine aspect, and as such, could be "Ollen D'anna" .....Or I the Goddess Danna, or Danu, who is the mother of the Tuatha De DannaI,, and was a Mystical Poet of the Highest Order, hence the title of "Ollen". She is also known as The Morrigan, or Triple Goddess off Celtic legend. I am surprised actually at the Norse connection for myself, because even though I am of half German heritage, I have never given that a second thought, as I am adopted and also don't know what the other half of my heritage might be. I've never considered myself to "belong" anywhere or to anything. So to find this possible connection to my heritage is very interesting, to say the least.
