Food=knowledge

Food = knowledge. I've been doing so much work lately revamping my course curriculum and thinking about how to engage the students  but not sacrifice the level of learning. So I dreamed last night about eating this huge cheeseburger that also had a potatoe pancake in the shape of a bunny head on top, and crumbles of fried onion, with pickles on the side.  There were some of my students present there, and one of them was telling me she didn't understand how to use the pencils, and I was saying, but the pencil is not the important part. However she could not stop fixating on the pencil. So what does this mean?
It could be that I don't spend enough time on the basics before giving the "meat". I need to break the info down into smaller pieces. I need to give them more time to practice basic technique before asking them to do the "big project". This is a perfect example of how our subconscious can work on problems from our daily life!
